Thank you for visiting the Sendai City Medical Association website.
My name is Takeo Fukuju, and I serve as Chairman of the Sendai City Medical Association.
I was born in Saitama Prefecture and grew up in Hida Takayama. I have lived in Sendai since my university days, and have spent the majority of my life—more than 40 years—in this city. I first came to Sendai just before the Shinkansen to Sendai started running. It was a different time then, but I quickly fell in love with the city. There were times when I lived away from Sendai, but each time I left, I missed the familiar cityscape and the beautiful trees that line its streets. In my heart, Sendai is my home, and I plan to spend the rest of my life here.
The Sendai City Medical Association works in cooperation with the local government and many medical and nursing care professionals to help ensure that the citizens of this wonderful city can live healthy lives with peace of mind.
The Sendai City Medical Association is composed of doctors working in Sendai. Our members provide medical care at their respective workplaces, as well as emergency medical care on nights and weekends. In addition, the Association supports school health services, cooperates in vaccination programs to protect residents, and helps oversee medical care at numerous nursing care facilities. In the event of large-scale disasters, both in Japan and overseas, we also form and dispatch medical teams to disaster-stricken areas.
As members of the Sendai City Medical Association, we will continue working to protect the lives and wellbeing of Sendai’s residents to the best of our ability. Further, we will support the health and safety of all those who visit our city.
On behalf of everyone at the Association, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support.
